I’ve been working for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department for more than 35 years.

I've lived in Tacoma and Pierce County my entire life. I was raised here by a single mom. I love this County, the Sheriff’s Department, and the men and women who wear the badge.

While you may know me from the news, you may not know I spent 10 years on the streets in patrol, and 5 years in investigations including Juvenile, Special Operations and the FBI task force. I’ve also worked the last 20 years in our command staff alongside Sheriff Paul Pastor, who has retired. I am honored to be endorsed by Sheriff Pastor.

I’ve been awarded four medals of merit and a lifesaving medal, but some of my proudest moments of leadership have happened outside the department.

I’ve led many local non-profits and charities, including Tacoma Pierce County Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers works with the public to capture dangerous, violent felons and make our community safer.

As an honorary member of Marine Corps League 504, I’ve led the Toys 4 Tots program in Pierce County for over ten years. Toys for Tots Distributes hundreds of thousands of toys to kids each holiday season.

I served on the board of the Tapco Credit Union as chair and vice-chair for four years. The TAPCO Board is responsible for safeguarding over 400 million dollars in member funds.

I spent the last 5 years as a Washington State Gambling Commissioner, which is a Law Enforcement Agency with a staff of 125. My job was setting policy and insuring that gambling in the State of Washington remained fair and honest.

I have been President of the Stacy Fuson Foundation since it’s inception. The foundation provides financial support to people with disabilities and assists them with mobility equipment.

I’m involved with the Foster Parents Association of WA. My wife and I adopted three kids out of foster care.

I also coach youth sports, volunteer for Special Olympics and Charlies Dinosaur, and, well, more than I can tell you about here. The point is I’m involved in our community because I care about our community.

Our Sheriff’s Department has a strong history serving our community with integrity and transparency. I’ll continue to do what we do well, and I’ll make changes where we need to do better.

As your Sheriff, I will work every day to keep you and your family safe.

I’d appreciate your vote, thanks.
